What type of water shortage?

Before you ran out of water, was there sand or earth mixed with water?

Drop an ice cube in the well (rocks can damage the pump) and count the seconds before you hear it fall into water. Knowing that an ice cube falls at a speed rate of 20 feet per second, calculate the water level. Per example, a 100 feet well is empty if the ice cube hits water after 5 seconds. Is your well empty?
